Now that the cupcake boom has taken the world by storm, there are so many flavours and combinations to choose from. Whether you like yours covered in buttercream, ganache or fondant, there is a flavour to suit all tastes. Here is a small selection of my favourite cupcakes.
1. Red Velvet cupcake
This cupcake for me is my absolute favourite. Not too sweet and with the addition of cream cheese frosting, this has to be a winner for me. The Hummingbird Bakery recipe is the best I have ever made and tasted.
2. Chocolate cupcake
Chocolate cupcakes are fantastic. With smooth, chocolatey buttercream, nothing beats this after a hard day at the office! Even better if you add some nutella too!
3. Vanilla cupcake
Vanilla cupcakes are the bread and butter of the cupcake world! Some vary in quality but be sure to use good quality vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste. I’d recommend the Neilsen Massey vanilla bean paste from Lakeland.
4. Strawberry cupcake
This cupcake is made with some strawberry paste instead of putting in fresh/dried strawberries as it gives a much stronger flavour.
5. Speculoos cupcake
I experimented with this recipe and it was definitely the best experiment ever! The Lotus Speculoos paste tastes delicious in this cupcake. The recipe can be found here.
